About us

Marechal HR is an independent HR consultancy based in South West London. It was formed by Kate Le Marechal, a senior HR professional and qualified coach with over twenty years’ experience gained from working across financial services, the regulatory sector, media/telecoms/technology, the NHS and higher education. 

Kate has worked both in-house and as an employment policy expert for a trade body. She has covered the full spectrum of HR specialisms, including:

• Developing HR strategies – for example, a talent strategy for the investment management industry centred on diversity, inclusion and culture change. 
• Leading complex projects such as TUPE transfers, DB pension scheme closures, compiling industry responses to proposed new UK and EU legislation, and introducing new performance and pay frameworks.
• Advising on legal implications and risk in relation to issues affecting employees, and writing HR policy.
• Developing policy on reward, leading an annual pay review process, producing gender and ethnicity pay gap reports, and salary benchmarking.  

Kate is also a qualified coach, and coaching has always been a part of her job that she has really loved: "It is hugely satisfying guiding individuals to build their own strategy for overcoming a mental obstacle or developing their career, and then seeing them gain in confidence as they move forward."

Kate has a degree in politics from York University, a postgraduate diploma in HR management from Bristol Business School and the ILM coaching and mentoring level 5 qualification. She is also a chartered member of the CIPD.

A large proportion of our work is carried out by Kate herself but she also works with  a number of associates.
